I've always been creative. Thankfully, my mother nurtured that side of me when I was young. As I got older, this love never faded. I stayed within the realm of craft making until 2019, when I learned about the Zentangle™ method. In 2020, I became a Certified Zentangle Teacher™ and since then, my art has shifted from craft-maker to artist.
I use many different mediums, such as ink, watercolor, acrylics, and engraving and woodburning tools. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my creative process. Having a range of mediums to choose from allows me the ability to explore ideas more fully.
I enjoy hiking in western North Carolina in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by nature. I love the exploring the idea of other worldly plants and in my work. This is why I find botanical zen art so appealing.
